Born in Vizcaya, Chávarri moved to Madrid where he initially managed a pharmacy on Atocha Street 87, bu his journey took a pivotal turn when he discovered the mineral-rich waters that would become the cornerstone of his legacy. Upon receiving confirmation of their remarkable health benefits, he devoted himself to their commercialization.

Chávarri was instrumental in bringing the railroad to Carabaña, ensuring the efficient transport of his bottled water to Madrid and beyond, thus accelerating the economic growth of the region.
A GLOBAL BUSINESS MAN
Through partnerships, such as his agreement with Eaux de Pougues, Chávarri connected with the broader international market, further solidifying the waters' reputation. Under Chávarri’s leadership, Agua de Carabana - La Favorita became the most sold Spanish brand internationally—a remarkable feat for a Madrid-based product in the late 19th century.
